Cast off into Lan Ha Bay: the less traveled, but still astoundingly beautiful southern portion of Ha Long Bay. We’ll cruise on our traditional Vietnamese junk boat through a maze of karst towers before boarding kayaks. Your guide will lead you through giant lagoons, explore island beaches, and navigate through villages of floating homes before returning to the junk boat, just in time for lunch!

We’ll set you up with a Vietnamese meal cooked fresh by our crew followed by a period of relaxation to digest and get excited for your afternoon of climbing. Next stop is the secluded Moody Beach, where the sea borders two shorelines beneath a massive limestone cliff. Our guides will give a brief introduction, set up climbs, and outfit you with climbing harnesses, shoes, and helmets. Then, we’ll coach you as you climb safely up above the ocean’s emerald water and jungle beaches with routes varying from beginner to intermediate. In late afternoon, we’ll rejoin the Asia Outdoors boat to cruise home as the sun sets over the islands around us.

Please be aware that this is a top-rope trip, meaning guides will initially climb and set up ropes on all routes. Additionally, itineraries change according to season. During the summer months we climb in the afternoon, when Moody Beach is shaded. In the winter, we climb through the morning to soak up as much sun as we can.
